About the studio
StormGlass Interactive designs and builds polished software for startups and small businesses — mobile apps, AI-powered tools, and enterprise platforms. We're known for finishing what we start and shipping things that look and feel considered.
The reason StormGlass exists, written down so we don't forget it.
Most software is forgettable. Most apps exist. The studios that produce them aren't short on skill — they're short on conviction. StormGlass Interactive was built on a simple premise: it is still possible, even now, to build software that feels considered at every seam.
We're a small team that has spent years watching well-funded apps ship flat default experiences while ad-supported clones race to the bottom on quality. We were tired of it. So we started making the alternative.
Our work has shipped across very different industries — LexForge, a daily word-puzzle game built natively for Android, with synthesised audio so the APK stays tiny; SpendLens, a privacy-first receipt scanner that uses AI to extract line items without ever connecting to your bank; and WorkOrder Pro, a CMMS platform for biomedical engineering teams that replaces the spreadsheet-and-paper systems most hospitals still run on.
What ties them together is a refusal to ship the generic version. Every project gets the same careful thinking — whether it lives in a browser tab, on a phone, or on the wall of a hospital biomed shop. We treat design and engineering as one discipline, ship something working every week, and reply to inquiries within two business days.
If that sounds like the kind of partner you want, we should talk.
Five principles we lean on when making decisions. They aren't slogans — they're tested working rules that show up in the code we ship.
Real software in your hands every Friday. No surprise reveals at month three. You always know what's done, what's next, and what's stuck — because you can run it.
Data stays on the device whenever possible. No bank linking when receipts work. No accounts when offline play works. We collect what's needed and nothing more — not because the law says so, but because it's the right call.
We don't ship apps that interrupt their users to sell their attention. Pro subscriptions, paid features, and direct value exchanges — not banner ads, interstitials, or "watch a video for a hint."
Cross-platform is fine for marketing sites and dashboards. But a daily-use app deserves Jetpack Compose, SwiftUI, or proper desktop UI — the platform's own language, not a webview pretending.
LexForge has zero MP3 files because we synthesise the audio. SpendLens has no server because the database lives on your phone. Smaller, faster, and more respectful of your device — without cutting features.
Email us and a real person responds within two business days — usually the same afternoon. Not a chatbot. Not a ticket queue. The actual builder.
We focus on three disciplines and go deep on each. Below are the kinds of work we take on and the technologies we typically use.
Native Android development with Jetpack Compose and Kotlin. iOS where the project calls for it. Cross-platform via React Native or Flutter when the surface area justifies it.
Apps that use modern AI (vision, text, structured extraction) to do something useful, fast, and cheaply. Built around the Anthropic Claude API or comparable providers.
CMMS, operational dashboards, internal tools, and enterprise web apps. Cross-surface products that work on a desktop, a tablet, and a wall display from the same data layer.
Sites for products that want to feel like real products — fast, considered, and free of template smell. Built for performance and search.
Tell us what you're making, who it's for, and what's at stake. We reply to every inquiry within two business days — often the same afternoon.
